Everyone is important popularity or no popularity. When you do an act of kindness there is most of the time no popularity. People only notice the gossip which is wrong instead of a good deed. Only a few people would recognize you for the act of kindness. It also isn't all about being popular. It matters if it's the right thing or the wrong thing.
